2018 Aviation Workforce Symposium
The field of aviation offers many exciting career paths. There are a number of budding initiatives to address the high demand in certain aviation careers, such as pilots and aircraft mechanics. To maximize the benefits of these initiatives, the FAA is sponsoring a symposium on September 13, 2018, at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The symposium will start with a scene-setting discussion, followed by three discussion panels:
- Priming the Pipeline will explore efforts and ideas for attracting young people to these exciting professions.
- Pathways to Proficiency will address ways to improve the quality and efficiency of training.
- Productive Partnerships will discuss existing and potential partnerships that offer a career path.
The FAA believes this event will provide an important forum for participants to explore the scope of issues, share strategies and best practices to address this opportunity, and ask the community to help develop and commit to specific steps for cooperation and collaboration.
